H E L L O Portland S P R I N G !!! If you are new to the city (as so many are these days…) then you have arrived just in time for the natural glory of this stunning city.
Come Spring, the city takes on a whole new energy, with shops and restaurants leaving their doors open later into the evening and patrons basking in that oh-so-rare sunshine. Often slow to peel back our winter layers, Portlanders keep jackets and layers nearby to ward off the all-too-possible chill of Spring. When we finally rise to the occasion theres an outpouring of diverse styles and aesthetics one can only attribute to the Pacific NW.
After living in Portland for 10 years now, I have to say this is my FAVORITE time of year! I will say this again and again despite the proponents of eternal summer. I love Spring because of the drastic change from grey Winter to the bright and thriving color-scapes that Spring brings on. It’s a reminder to hope, to look forward and to keep on keepin on.
Portland’s growth has been a hot topic these past few years and one of my favorite additions to the city is the stunning walking bridge, Tilikum Crossing. The bridge was built for our public transport system, bikers and pedestrians only. This architectural inspiration also represents the priorities of a city that has embraced it’s NW roots in NATURE during recent growth. We have maintained a place for trees, parks and nature reserves in the midst of major architectural and population growth.
In other words- we are nature loving hippies at heart and built a bridge to prove it!

Anyhow, as much of a hiking, biking nature loving girl that I am, I also love to make a statement and as you know, express myself through personal style. People ask me often about comfortable shoes and what to buy for which occasion, etc. I am always hunting down the best options for my readers and just discovered the FIND-ALL Shoe Mecca that is Shoes.com There are shoes here for those seeking comfort and those (like me) who are willing to suffer for a killer designer pump!
For a day of adventure I am happy to wear a sturdy heel and isn’t this Cynthia Vincent Pembroke Sandal just stunning as well? I wore these around for 3-4 hours with no blistering or arch discomfort. I know I’ll be pairing these with dresses and skirts come more warm weather too.
I’ve placed my order through Shoes.com twice now and had a great experience with attentive costumer care and fast delivery.
For a girl mostly on a budget, I LOVE their selection in the $50-$100 range and pulled together some of my favorite Under #100 Spring Statement Shoes for you to shop:
