An early present to myself this year, I invested in my first Gucci Belt in a very versatile dark brown. I love having pieces that are classic enough to wear not only season to season but for years to come. The oversized Double G buckle has a vintage gold finish that allows me to easily mix metals, which I decided to do with silver accents on my jacket and shoes.
SHOP THE LOOK:
Before making this purchase I had a hard time tracking down sizing info anywhere online. I finally hit up a friend who owns the same belt to gauge which size would work best for me. I have three tips before placing an online order. (For me this was the only option since we don’t have a gucci store here and the one shop who carried it only had limited sizes.) I ended up ordering a size 80/32 from the Gucci website.
- Measure where you jeans hit on waist and/or hips. My jeans hit around my upper hip and I measure about 32 inches. The size I’m wearing is 80/32 so you can gauge from there.
- Decide which denim you’re buying the belt for. I wear both high waisted and low waisted jeans. You can see that my boyfriend jeans fit low and the buckle rests in the second to last hole. This belt will not work for anything truly high waisted.
- Don’t go by your denim size or what you would wear in other belts. Gucci sizing seems to reflect an average mens sizing even for the womens belts.
The other major players in this look are my new BCBGeneration suede moto jacket and Savanna suede buckled boots. I wore these boots with everything including skirts, a romper and various denim in LA last week. They are comfortable enough to wear for up to 6-7 hours standing and walking. The suede is very warm, but not bulky. It layers beautifully with all my fall pieces.
My Wool Greek Fishermans cap is a fun new addition to my growing hat collection. I just wore this for my “Key Fashion Pieces” segment on Afternoon Live and love the unique detailing and fresh sillhouette.
