We first came across Salishan Resort on Instagram last year and bookmarked it immediately. The most famous images from this resort and spa are shot from the outdoor infinity pool, which boasts an ocean front view of the Pacific.
Luke and I welcomed a weekend getaway, set up by our friends at Salishan, that included a beautiful suite with a view, a couples massage and serendipitously- an owl release ceremony the last day of our stay. (To be clear, the weekend was booked and sponsored by our friends at Salishan Resort, but all final comments and opinions expressed here remain my own.)
A dog-friendly establishment, we ran across dozens of furry-pals for Tobi to hang out with, but he was already head over paws- excited over the room layout. (You can see him turbo racing across the room in the second photo above.) They also have a daily “Yappy Hour” with snacks and water provided, if you want to bring your furry friend down for some personalized social time.
Luke and I walked around the grounds and then took the complimentary bikes out for a spin to check out the property. Of course, we stopped for a few style shots of my new bag.
We were treated to some DELICOUS meals at both the Sun Room and the Attic Bar and Lounge. As you know, Luke and I are pretty particular eaters, but we highly recommend the salmon sandwich and crab cakes! They also have a good wine selection if you’re planning something special.
Luke brushed me on my chess game over the weekend and at one point, we were totally emmersed, so we just had lunch served right at our chess table!
Oh! And we heard the Dining Room is great too, but we will try that one with the kiddos next visit and let you know what we think.
While I may not be the craziest adventurer these days (hello, mama’s gotta live another day- am I right?) I DO LOVE obstacle courses and physically challenging adventures like the new aerial park we were able to experience. We had a couple of quirky guides who were kind enough to extend our time by 15 minutes since it was a slow day and ahem- Luke did not take to it quite as quickly as the rest of the group. (See my Video Recap on IG for the full, hilarious scoop.)
Last, but not least, Luke and I stopped in for the most wonderful couples massage at the wellness spa. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the entire property, but this was our favorite experience, because right after a completely satisfying and relaxing massage, we were able to linger in the lounge area and then enjoy a soak in the stunning, infinity whirlpool.
From the first greeting, to our final goodbyes at checkout, the Salishan staff made us feel right at home. We have a family trip already planned for this Fall; That’s how much freaking fun we had!
Be sure to sign up for their revolving door specials! You can snag a weekend getaway at an absolute steal.
