The best way to cheer myself in the midst of a gloomy Portland spell (yes, the rumors are true about our endless gray skies) is with C O L O R. I like to be selective with color in my wardrobe since it’s not as versatile and I am all about those staples.

You can see how I implemented color with a minimal, silk Vaughan blouse and these Preppy Soma loafers. My WhoWhatWear Frayed Denim adds a bit of edge to a fairly preppy look with the jagged hemline. I ADORE these jeans and wish they had them in different washes as they’re only $35 and fit like designer denim. The shoes are unique in their design and a beautiful pale sky blue color. It’s like a perfect sunny day with my sunshine yellow blouse, haha. And then this wooden Dezzal wooden handbag adds an oceanfront view.
I just discovered a new favorite Portland boutique, where I snagged this gorgeous Cropped Sweater and Portland Tote bag. A girls gotta represent right? I love how layering up and changing out my bag takes this from a preppy day look to casual beach-ready. I am a HUGE fan of totes since I’m always lugging around extra clothes and accessories, so it’s fun to finally have one that captures my roots and still folds up for easy storage.
