When this 90’s trend first came back, I was nervous. I am one of those girls who has a HARD time finding boots that look right on me.
A. I am petite (a kinder word for short) and can look swallowed up if they don’t hit just right.
B. I am knock-kneed, which means that my knees come in towards each other. A lot of boots exaggerate this feature.
So, needless to say, I was nervous about this trend and whether or not I could pull it off myself. The challenge was set, however, so I’ve kept my eyes peel for the past couple winters in case the perfect over-the-knee boot reared it’s head. When I walked past these in Nordstrom I was attracted to the color and the soft suede. I tried them on -just for fun- with a mini shift that I was already wearing and it was love thereafter.
What works about these boots for me, is that the color blends and adds length, rather than chopping up my figure. I also like the personal touch of the lace-ups in the back that make me feel like a gypsy every time I slip them on. Here I am wearing them with a linen white shirt and Ralph Lauren shorts. I love how these work with denim as well as dresses.
