There’s a couple of things you have to know about me if you’re a new subscriber or first time reader of my blog. First off, I am quite natural when it comes to both beauty and food sources. I believe nature provides most of what we need in order to maintain physical and mental health. Secondly, I am of the mindset that it is better to PREVENT rather than recover or alter yourself when it comes to aging. That’s why I also incorporate carefully researched anti-aging products and services into my beauty routine.
This is a blog post about my first time experience getting Botox and fillers at minimal doses from Dr. Yan of Renew Aesthetic Clinic,a doctor who is known for her conservative work and subtle results.
Dr. Yan stood out to me from our first consult with one of my favorite quotes “We don’t alter here. We Restore.” When making recommendations for botox and filler work, Yan keeps in mind the individual beauty and original characteristics of each patient. When I explained to her that I quite enjoy my smile lines and deep dimples around my cheeks, but that I wanted to prevent forehead lines and deep eye wrinkles from forming, she talked me through her plan to restore a bit of fat loss around my cheekbones and even talked me out of getting botox in my mid-forehead. We opted for more minimal injections around my hairline so that I would retain eyebrow movements and the ability to create expression. This may not work for everyone, but for where my own wrinkles are form, it conservatively addresses the issue.
Once we had made our treatment plan, Dr. Yan proceeded to educate me on the products she uses, as well as the anticipated results over the following months and years. Yan put me at ease during the procedures with her sweet and informative bedside manner. She talked me through each step without me having to ask too many questions.
We stopped at the half-way point of my Juvéderm Voluma injections as pictured above, so that I could compare one side to the other. You can see an immediate effects on my under-eye area, where the filler tightened my skin to fill out some of my deep, under-eye hallows. It also lifts my skin a subtle amount to decrease the wrinkles forming from my nose to my mouth corners. This is a secondary result of filler treatments that addressed my under-eye bags and dark circles.
The overall experience was quite comfortable and fun considering I had my face poked with needles a dozen times! Dr. Yan utilizes great techniques to prevent common bruising and unnecessary swelling. I did not experience any bruising afterward and was able to take blog photos the very next day! I have several more appointments booked at Renew Aesthetic Clinic and can’t wait to share my next experiences with you!

Crazy difference!! I had botox a few times and i’m really a proponent of getting these things done preventatively.
