Over the years I have gained a true appreciation for my home state- the culture, nature and even yes- the rain have become something of a comfort to me and quite the inspiration. Old Navy and People.com have brought together bloggers from all 50 States for an pretty special style project, asking us to share with you how Oregon has influenced my personal style.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of home are the vast nature landscapes; whether they be golden deserts or decadent forests, Oregon offers a unique array of outdoor beauty that you can’t often find all in one state. Portland in particular has a charming quality to it, with people of all walks of life riding bikes along the same trails, enjoying the same beautiful parks and reserves. Being approachable and welcoming is the cultural norm and quite expected here and I have to say- that has perhaps influenced my style most of all.
Come Fall I am so excited to begin layering up and mixing in fresh fabrics and textures into my wardrobe. The casual nature of my home state is definitely reflected in what I’m drawn to and how my final looks are put together. I adore the idea of mixing pieces together so that it’s never “too perfect”- just as you would see in nature. It feels a bit more authentic that way.
What I love about Old Navy is the lifestyle behind the brand. There are so many great denim and cotton pieces that I feel like I can live real-life in. They are clothes that not only fit into my lifestyle, but actually embrace it. What do you think of this look I’ve layered up for Fall? Join in on the fun and use the hashtag #50Styles50States in your social posts or check out the People.com site for current features.

Love this outfit, and the stunning views! I feel like Portland is the only city in the US other than Seattle that I could see myself living in. I’ve loved it every time we’ve visited!
