NYFW 2017-Runway to Reality with Visionworks

It’s a busy time for bloggers all over the world right now. NYFW has kept everyone buzzing, even those of us who are not in the Big Apple. Thanks to Visionworks, I’ll be sharing my favorite runway trends and transforming these uber high fashion ensembles into wearable looks you can shop right here.

UPDATE 10/13: The Calvin Klein collection is out! Another line who didn’t have a traditional show this year, but rather, offered us a taste of the Resort 2017 collection via an online lookbook. My favorite piece was definitely this deconstructed, multi-print slip dress. I also noted a continuation of the dramatic belt details throughout this collection (similar to what we saw in the previous 2 collections).

For my own translation, I wanted to layer up some pieces, utilizing what I have in my closet for the upcoming seasons. I recreated a belted collared look over top a midi dress with a utility belt that gives a similar vibe, without having to repeat another full on slip dress look. It feels sharp with these taupe Calvin Klein glasses and reflects a lot of elements of this collection. What do you think of my look?

UPDATE 10/12: Althought DVF did not have a traditional show this year, we did finally get an online peak at her Spring/Summer 2017 collection. My favorite trends include the slip dress and ruffled details throughout the collection, with a strong color presence of blue. Here is my ready-to-wear translation from this collection, paired with another pair of Visionworks DVF frames. I layered a blue slip dress over a ruffled sleeve top to achieve a similar vibe, which paired nicely with the teal frames.

If you’ve been keeping track of the shows online as I have, you may have caught the BCBGMaxazria show yesterday. Stunning knits, retro patterns and mixed prints were seen throughout the entire collection. As a wearable translation, I paired these BCBG Maxazria Rochelle frames with similar colors and textures, adding my own bit of print with a bandana and recycled a summer cropped knit for a layered look.
